A visit from The Guide Dogs

This week Primary Four had a very exciting visit from Andy Holmes and his Guide Dog, Iyke. We learned how Iyke helps Andy every day by guiding Andy to the places he needs to be. We are hoping that we will be able to raise some money for this fantastic charity. Watch this space!

Football Game

Year 9 were extremely proud to watch today’s football game. Six of Y9 students were involved in the game and played very well against a strong opposition.

We managed to take a couple of pictures.

Y9 Numeracy

In numeracy this week, year 9 were given a small project. Students had the opportunity to design their own stadium and choose their starting 11 squad. However, they had a budget to adhere to and requirements to take into consideration.

The Project pack consisted of an A3 stadium, Player profile statistics, envelope with toilets, refreshment bars and fire exit requirements, their budget and price list.

Students had to compromise with their players to ensure they stuck to their budget. Alot of trial and error occured but the students were resilient….so much that they carried on with this task during their choosing time! They were also allowed a 5 minute tranfer window, so they had the opportunity to swap for better/cheaper players.

Student picked their starting squad including the requirements, and completed an accountant sheet which justified what they had spent. They then completed some word problems on how the club would generate income.

Take a look at our pictures!!
