Mr Walker gave Class 3 a brilliant morning of activities at the farm today. The visit started with a tour of the site and an introduction to the animals. Everyone stroked Casper the rabbit and most pupils groomed one of the Shetland ponies. After the tour the pupils planted Remembrance Day trees around the fence. Finally they all played together in the forest area where they hid in the dens and played hide and seek.
Thank you to Kirk Balk AA for putting on the mental health roadshow. The pupils made fiddle toys and stress balls to use as calming strategies when they feel angry or upset.
Pew pew… take control of the Empire and fight against the Rebels or use the force and use the Rebel forces… coming soon to the Wargames club!
On Monday three students from Kirk Balk Alternative Academy put on a mental health awareness roadshow for pupils at Springwell Special Academy. Class 3 went along and had a great time making all sorts of things. Their favourite was making stress toys with balloons and flour. By the end of the session all pupils were more aware of some of the mental health issues faced by people every day. THANK YOU KIRK BALK.
Year 7 re created the story of Diwali as a storyboard. Well some, some amazing pieces of writing!
Key stage 3 were up for a treat this afternoon with an interactive Indian Dancing workshop. They danced, clapped, played with sticks, dressed up as monkeys, acted in an Indian wedding play and listened to Indian music. So great moves and great acting skills from all years. Well done KS3!
Thought provoking assembly. Well done to all involved! 😢 👏🏼
It was great to have Charlotte visit us on Thursday. She even watched us sing! 🎶🎥
